Guido van Gageldonk

My curiosity about technology began early, with a Commodore 64, soldering an amplifier and building robots. I want to understand how things work and like investigating them for myself. That curiosity took me to Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology and into the businesses I later built.

MY STARTING POINT

Software, physical systems and entrepreneurship come together.

During my career, I have helped build several businesses. Among them are Unit040 and Prespective, which I co-founded and where I worked on software, AI and digital twins for high-tech industry. The connection between digital models, machines and real processes is an important starting point in how I look at emerging technology.

My starting point

I take a broad view of exponential technologies and the interaction between the digital and physical worlds. How does the technology work, what becomes possible and what does that mean for people and businesses? That also brings in philosophy: understanding what we can build and considering what we want to do with it.

I believe technology can make the world better. To do that, we need to understand how it works and make conscious choices about how we use it. That’s why I like connecting possible futures with strategy, tactics and today’s practical questions.

My role at BOM

I now work at the Brabant Development Agency (BOM) as a venture developer in digital technology. I support startups through that role.

My perspective

Technalist is my personal website, where I share my own perspective on technology and entrepreneurship.
